Synchrotech's high performance Zonet PC Card 56K V.92 Fax-Modem is a must for mobile communications. This low cost Fax-Modem sports high end features including Digital Line Safeguard, full hardware modem operations, low power consumption, and complete V.90 compliance. Digital Line Safeguard (DLS) automatically protects the PC Card and host from damage when plugged into digital telephone lines like ISDN and PBX, often found in hotels and airports. The Fax-Modem is also a 100% PC Card hardware based modem, so it doesn't utilize any host CPU cycles like many "WinModems," resulting in both higher performance and compatibility. With a low power standby mode of only 3.3V this modem won't burden a laptop's batteries.
