IOFlex PCI to FireWire IEEE 1394 800 Host Adapter 3+1 Port
Synchrotech's PCI to FireWire® 800 Host Adapter provides a high performance 800Mbps interface on 64-bit PCI systems for the most demanding applications. Perfect for connecting FireWire 800 hard drives and other high speed devices. The host adapter provides two external 9-pin ports, one internal 9-pin port, and one external 6-pin (FireWire 400) port. The 6-pin port makes it a snap to connect to existing DV camcorders, CCD cameras, digital still cameras, set top boxes and other 1394.a and earlier devices to a PC or Macintosh. The 9-pin ports are great for use in conjunction with Synchrotech's high performance UltiFire 800 Drives. Fully compliant with all current specifications, the PCI to FireWire® IEEE 1394 Adapter excels with digital video and other high speed device connections. This device works best in machines with 64-bit PCI systems providing a maximum of 800Mbps (Megabits), but also works at reduced throughput in 32-bit PCI systems. Testing with various 32-bit PCI systems with FireWire 800 devices yielded various results, but throughput were consistently better than 400Mbps while considerably lower than 800Mbps. Backed by Synchrotech's one year limited warranty and highly trained technical support, the only thing you will have to worry about is finding new uses for the device!
