Synchrotech's x1 PCI Express to USB 2.0 and FireWire 800/400 Combo Host Adapter is an inexpensive single card solution for adding or supplementing FireWire 800, FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 ports. Harnessing the powerful PCI Express capabilities on modern motherboards, the combo card provides full 800 and 400Mbps throughput for high performance FireWire 800/400 peripherals, and 480Mbps throughput for versatile USB 2.0 devices. The adapter provides three external USB 2.0 ports, one external FireWire 800 port, one internal FireWire 800 port, and one external FireWire port.
The PCIe card is fully backward compatible with existing USB 1.1 devices, and connects with thousands USB based devices. Easy USB installation makes adding new hardware a breeze, with no complex configuration, confusing plug-ins, or IRQs. Connect up to 127 USB products to PCs. The FireWire portion of the card interfaces with blazing fast FireWire 800 and 400 peripherals including Digital Video Camcorders, hard drives, and other mass storage devices. Use with multiple peripherals or with a hub for daisy chaining and/or hierarchical (tree) bus configurations. Ready for use with self-powered devices, or plug an available system power cable into the onboard molex connecter for devices requiring bus power.
