FarSync WAN T4U PCI/PCI-X Synchronous Communications Network Adapter 4 Port
Linux: The versatile intelligent FarSync WAN T-Series cards provide up to 10 Mbits/s per port WAN solutions for your X.21, V.35 and RS530 connectivity requirements. Whether you are connecting to the Internet, satellite links, private networks using TCP/IP or connecting sites using leased lines, FarSync cards provide the connectivity solution, replacing standalone routers and firewalls. The cards install seamlessly under Linux kernel series 2.2, 2.4 and 2.6 on both single and multiprocessor 32 and 64 bit systems. The drivers are included as standard in the kernel. Distributions by Redhat, SuSE, Slackware, Mandrake, Debian, Fedora and more are supported. The link level protocol can be PPP, Cisco HDLC or Frame Relay. Each serial port provides a standard point-to-point network interface controllable with all the standard Linux networking tools. Multiple cards can be installed to create a very low cost high speed Wide Area Network (WAN) hub. E1, fractional E1 (G.703 and G.704) types of connection are supported using the FarSync WAN TE1 - E1 card and also interface converters. PC connections to secure BRENT units are supported using X.21.

Whether you are connecting to the Internet, a satellite link, a private network using TCP/IP or connecting sites using leased lines, FarSync provides the connectivity solution. With its WAN miniport driver (NDISWAN) interface, the cards integrate seamlessly with Windows XP, 2000, Server 2003 and NT 4.0. Microsoft's RAS and powerful RRAS support, supplied with the Operating System, can be fully utilised on both single and multiple processor systems. The product is supplied with its own built in multi-channel Line Monitor. Multiple adapters can be installed to create a very low cost high speed Wide Area Network (WAN) hub using 12 or more cards (48+ ports). Microsoft's RAS and RRAS products offer a very rich feature set, including support for TCP/IP and IPX Routing, NetBEUI, VPN (Virtual Private Networking), QoS Technologies (Quality of Service), RADIUS-based accounting services, PPP and PPTP link layer protocols, bandwidth aggregation and compression, SNMP and Web administration. FarSync WAN cards have been validated by Microsoft as 'Designed for Windows XP'. PC connections to secure BRENT units are supported using X.21. For developers who need to access the HDLC or Bitstream support on the adapter directly, the FarSync OEM product range should be used instead. The FarSync OEM range includes a Developers Toolkit that supports application development using the adapter's API and also on the adapter itself. See FarSync OEM cards for further details. E1 (G.703), fractional E1 (G.704) with BNC or RJ45 connectors are supported using interface converters.
