SuperSpeed USB 3.0 to SATA 6G (Serial ATA 6Gb/s) Host Adapter
This SuperSpeed USB 3.0 to SATA 6G adapter provides access to the latest generation of SATA drives including Serial ATA 6Gb/s. Utilizing SuperSpeed USB's maximum theoretical speeds of up to 5Gbps, the adapter easily accommodates the full bandwidth of SATA 3Gb/s, and roughly two thirds of the full bandwidth of SATA 6Gb/s [1]. The SuperSpeed USB to SATA 6G adapter is backwards compatible with SATA devices previous to SATA 6Gb/s and works with SATA ATAPI optical drives as well.
The SuperSpeed USB 3.0 to SATA 6G adapter comes with an external AC adapter that provides up to 1.8 amps of power for either 3.5" or 2.5" hard drives. The adapter is backward compatible with USB 2.0, but recommended for use with SuperSpeed USB 3.0 in order to achieve optimal transfer rates. The adapter provides a versatile means for accessing data on SATA storage devices without having to place those devices in an external case or install in a computer.
