SuperSpeed USB 3.0 A to B male Active Optical Cable with Powered Hub 20M, 50M and 100M
Unibrain's USB 3.0 Active Optical Cable (AOC) was designed to be compliant with SuperSpeed USB specifications, offering seamless interoperability between existing USB 3.0 hosts, hubs and devices. Available in 20, 50, and 100 meter lengths, the AOCs come as a kit with a specially designed USB 3.0 hub and power supply. The AOC hub serves two functions: it provides required return power to the Active Optical Cable, it also provides power to any downstream USB devices since buss power can't travel over optical cables. The AOC kit hub's upstream (female USB B) port must not be used with any cable other than the AOC and it is clearly labeled to prevent damage to equipment.
With an ultra thin profile (just 3mm), the Unibrain USB 3.0 AOC breaks the distance barrier and introduces USB 3.0 devices to a whole new range of applications, such as long distance machine vision, security and High Definition surveillance, industrial and medical machine control. The USB 3.0 Active Optical Cables are also ideal for applications that have strict EMI/RFI requirements. The AOC provides and aggregate (total) throughput of approximately 5Gbps on the 20 and 50 meter cables and 3Gbps on the 100 meter cable. The AOC kit can typically can handle the throughput of multiple devices attached the downstream hub.
